Mail Boxes Etc. (MBE) started in 1980 in San Diego, evolving into a global network of franchised entrepreneurs providing shipping, logistics, printing, marketing, and communication solutions. UPS acquired MBE in 2001 and rebranded its centers as "The UPS Store" in 2003. MBE Worldwide, an Italian holding company, acquired the global network (excluding North America) in 2009. Further expansions occurred in 2017 with acquisitions of PostNet International Franchise, AlphaGraphics, and a majority stake in Spedingo. MBE strategically invested in successful network partners, establishing Directly Operated Stores (DOS). To drive growth, MBE announced an agreement with Oaktree Capital Management for a phased capital increase. The Fiorelli Family remains the majority owner.
