Myanmar Post and Telecoms, the country's first and largest telecoms and postal provider, has been working for the growth of the telecoms and postal industries for more than 130 years. Myanmar Post and Telecom is a state-owned company in Myanmar that runs the country's postal system and is overseen by the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Currently, the Myanmar Postal Service runs 1,294 post offices around the nation. Myanmar's regional Express Parcel System was started on April 1, 1992, in Yangon and Mandalay, and it now serves 129 places. MPT was also Myanmar's sole transmission substation until 2013.
