The Postal Service was one of Nepal's first government services that provide both necessary and commercial services. The firm presently has 3,997 branches in order to expand its reach. By joining the Universal Postal Union in 1956 and the Asia-Pacific Postal Union in 1982, Nepal's Postal Service was able to develop its global network. Although EMS and postal savings banks are optional, services for sending letters, parcels, and mailboxes are obligatory. Nepal Post has implemented a mail tracking system internally.
