Montenegro Post is the country's largest business network. Its social purpose is to provide universal postal services, maintain its own sustainable growth, and comply with the needs of the contemporary market. It was established on 31 December 1998 after the separation of PTT Montenegro into two different companies, one telecom service (Crnogorski Telekom) and one postal service (Pošta Crne Gore). Public postal transportation in Montenegro was established in 1841. In 1874, the first stamp was produced. On 26 July 2006, nearly two months after the restoration of independence, Montenegro was accepted to the Universal Postal Union. They have around 900 employees under them.
