Ipostel tells the story of Venezuela's official mail. Ipostel is a legal institutions in charge of giving concessions to private companies that provide public postal services. Ipostel is an active member of the Universal Postal Union UPU and a member of the Administrative Council for Postal Operations on a global scale. Ipostel operates Venezuela's most extensive postal network. There are about 300 branches located around the country, and there are 2,197 postmen employed throughout the country.
